Our team

Matt was born and raised in North Carolina.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and earned his Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law. Matt served as an Assistant District Attorney in several North Carolina D.A.’s Offices over the span of 15 years where he handled thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases in both District and Superior Court. While serving as an Assistant District Attorney, Matt was awarded the Eastern NC Prosecutor MADD Hero Award for excellence in DWI cases and preparation. This prosecutorial experience gives Matt an extensive set of skills and knowledge in criminal, DWI, and traffic violation cases and allows him to easily understand and communicate to clients how both sides of the legal processes operate.
